YOUR RESURFX EXPERTS IN LOUISIANA

ResurFX is a non-ablative fractional laser technology used for skin resurfacing and rejuvenation. Unlike ablative lasers that remove the top layer of skin, ResurFX works by heating the underlying dermal tissue to stimulate new collagen and elastin production without damaging the surface.

Key Features and Technology

  • Non-Ablative & Fractional: It targets only a fraction of the skin with micro-columns of laser energy, allowing for faster healing and minimal downtime.
  • One-Pass Treatment: Unlike many other fractional lasers that require multiple passes, ResurFX is effective with a single pass, making it faster and more comfortable.
  • CoolScan™ Technology: The system includes a scanning pattern that prevents heat buildup and a continuous contact cooling system to protect the skin and enhance patient comfort.

Common Uses

The treatment is FDA-cleared and typically addresses the following concerns on the face, neck, chest, and hands:

  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Acne and surgical scars
  • Sun damage and pigmentation (age spots, melasma)
  • Stretch marks
  • Uneven skin texture and enlarged pores

What to Expect

  • Treatment Time: A session typically lasts 15 to 45 minutes, depending on the size of the treated area.
  • Downtime: Recovery is minimal, often referred to as a "lunch-time" treatment. You may experience mild redness or swelling for 24 to 72 hours, similar to a light sunburn.
  • Results: While initial improvements may be seen after the first session, a series of 3 to 5 treatments spaced 4 to 6 weeks apart is usually recommended for optimal outcomes.

  • Is the ResurFX treatment painful?

The procedure is generally well-tolerated and described as a warming or tingling sensation. To ensure comfort, providers usually apply a topical numbing cream 30 to 60 minutes before the session, and the device itself uses CoolScan™ technology to protect and cool the skin during the laser pulses.

  • Benefits and Treated Concerns

Moxi is a versatile treatment used on the face, neck, chest, hands, and arms to address a variety of skin issues.

    Key benefits include:

    • Improving overall skin tone and texture.
    • Reducing unwanted pigmentation, sun spots, and melasma.
    • Minimizing the appearance of fine lines and early wrinkles.
    • Enhancing skin elasticity and firmness through collagen stimulation.
    • Providing a radiant glow with little to no downtime.
  • What is the expected downtime and recovery?

ResurFX is known for minimal downtime. You can expect mild redness and swelling for 1 to 3 days, similar to a light sunburn. While some patients return to normal activities immediately, others may experience a "sandpaper" skin texture for up to a week as the skin heals.

  • How long do the results last?

Results can last up to two years, though they are not permanent as the skin continues to age. Longevity is best maintained through a consistent skincare routine, daily broad-spectrum SPF, and occasional annual touch-up treatments.

  • How does ResurFX differ from other lasers like Fraxel?

A key advantage of ResurFX over older technologies like Fraxel Re:store is that it requires only one pass over the skin rather than multiple, which can lead to a faster treatment and increased patient comfort. It is also non-ablative, meaning it does not create open wounds, unlike more aggressive CO2 lasers.
