A chemical peel is a skin-resurfacing treatment that uses a solution of exfoliating acids to remove dead skin cells, stimulate collagen production, and promote healthier skin. Peels range in strength and ingredients depending on your unique skin type and goals.

  • Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA)

    • Primary Ingredient: Trichloroacetic Acid (TCA).
    • Depth: TCA peels can range from superficial (10-15% concentration) to medium-depth (20-35% concentration), depending on the concentration and application technique.
    • Key Uses: TCA is highly versatile and effective for treating fine lines, superficial wrinkles, sun damage (photodamage), mild to moderate acne scars, and pigmentation issues like melasma and solar lentigines (age spots). Higher concentrations require significant downtime.
  • Apeele (Forte & Medium)

    • Description: Apeele is a proprietary, physician-strength chemical peel system.
    • Depth: Generally considered a medium-depth peel.

    Types & Uses:

    • Apeele Medium: Formulated for mild to moderate skin conditions, improving texture, tone, fine lines, and sun damage with relatively less downtime than the Forte version.
    • Apeele Forte: A stronger formulation designed for more severe skin aging, deeper wrinkles, and significant photodamage, requiring more downtime.

    Key Feature: Often utilizes a combination of ingredients, including TCA, to achieve a deep exfoliating effect.

  • VI Peel (Advanced, Original, Precision Plus, Purify, Purify Precision Plus)

    • Description: The VI Peel is a synergistic blend of powerful ingredients, including TCA, salicylic acid, retinoic acid, phenol, and often Vitamin C. They are known for providing excellent results with minimal discomfort and relatively low downtime.
    • Depth: Primarily considered a medium-depth peel.

    Types & Key Uses:

    • VI Peel Purify Precision Plus: A comprehensive solution for acne and acne scarring with significant post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. It combines the Purify formula with the pigment-fighting agents of Precision Plus.
  • Melanage Peel

    • Description: This is a professional-grade, intensive peel system specifically designed to treat melasma and other types of stubborn hyperpigmentation.
    • Depth: Acts as a medium-depth peel.
    • Key Feature: It is a leave-on mask applied in the clinic, followed by a strict at-home maintenance regimen using specialized products. The main ingredients often include a potent blend of various acids (like mandelic, phytic, and azelaic) along with depigmenting agents like hydroquinone and arbutin.
  • ZO Stimulator Peel

    • Description: Developed by ZO Skin Health, this peel is often nicknamed the "lunchtime peel" or "Red Carpet Peel."
    • Depth: It is a superficial peel.
    • Primary Ingredients: A combination of Salicylic Acid, Lactic Acid, and Citric Acid.
