mission statement

The Aesthetic Platform within Williamson Cosmetic Center is dedicated to providing aesthetic medicine educational training to healthcare professionals which ultimately impacts their practice and improves the well-being of every patient.

Welcome to The Aesthetic Platform, an educational platform offering customized "hands on" injection training and business solutions to assist Medical Professionals looking to excel in the aesthetic industry. With over 20 years in practice at the Williamson Cosmetic Center & Perenack Aesthetic Surgery, we recognized a need in aesthetic medicine education.

Our faculty are highly skilled injectors and nationally recognized trainers who are leaders in the aesthetic industry. In their daily practice, they are the number one providers of Botox Cosmetic in Louisiana and top 1% Allergan account in the country (according to Allergan data). They take both a medical aesthetic and an artistic approach to customizing treatment plans based on the individual patient needs. TAP trainers are passionate about aesthetics and have a genuine interest in investing in your education to optimize your success in your practice. Our tenured faculty provides an unparalleled level of hands on attention during our one on one or 4 person capacity courses in order to ensure that you get the absolute most out of your time spent in our classroom.

  • DERMAL FILLER TRAINING

At The Aesthetic Platform, our highly skilled medical aesthetics clinicians offer both beginner and advanced training in dermal filler injections. We have in-depth knowledge of the dermal filler products that are available and the most successful techniques.

We can also offer 1:1 Level 1 and Level II private training at your practice location. Dermal fillers are synthetic materials injected into the face to increase lip, cheek, or chin volume.

Fillers can also be used to reduce the nasolabial fold and to fill creases in the skin.  Fillers may also be utilized to treat dark circles beneath the eyes.

Dermal fillers are generally used for static wrinkles or lines caused by the aging process or sun damage. Patients love them because the treatments are short, with little or no bruising and no "downtime" to recover. We primarily use Juvederm and Restylane in our practice.

    What is Juvederm™?

JUVÉDERM® XC is a dermal gel filler manufactured from a proprietary type of hyaluronic acid. It's known to be both highly biocompatible and biodegradable.

A natural substance, hyaluronic acid's primary function in the skin is to retain moisture that increases fullness. With age, your skin loses hyaluronic acid, resulting in deflation.

Injecting JUVÉDERM® XC can increase the fullness and inflate the skin, with a low risk of an allergic reaction. Also, it may stimulate the body's natural production of hyaluronic acid.

Juvederm may be used to rejuvenate multiple problem areas, including "smile lines" and vertical lip lines. Having these lines can convey the unwanted look of frowning, sadness, or aging. Results can last up to a year.

There are several varieties of Juvederm which have been developed for specific areas of the face. Some Juvederm contains lidocaine, which reduces pain during injections.

    What is Restylane?

Restylane offers a family of products designed to enhance different parts of the face. It is a hyaluronic acid filler commonly used for lines under the eyes and wrinkles on the hands.

It is also beneficial for smoothing lines around the lips and mouth, plumping the lips, and adding volume and lift to cheeks.

How do Juvederm and Restylane Differ?

Both Juvederm and Restylane are manufactured from hyaluronic acid, but they are different in texture. Juvederm has a smooth texture and is highly effective for small wrinkles and lines around the mouth. Restylane is more granular and cohesive. Most clinicians believe it is a better choice for hands, tear troughs, and acne scars.

    Level I Dermal Filler Training

This course is for doctors, dentists, P.A.'s, and N.P.s who wish to incorporate medical aesthetics into their practice. In the four-hour training, you will learn the basics of patient assessment and the science of treatment selection of dermal fillers and neurotoxins.

During the training, our demonstration will show the proper treatment techniques to enhance cosmetic results. You'll learn basic competency with improving the lips and reducing nasolabial folds and marionette lines.

    Level II Dermal Filler Training

The advanced four-hour course is for clinicians who have been performing injections in their practice for two or more years and want to move to the next level. In this course, you will explore more refined techniques.

You will gain competency with dermal fillers to the cheeks, temples, tear troughs, and peri-oral region.

    Advanced Dermal Filler Training

Advanced Dermal Filler Training is a full-day class for experienced injectors. This training will incorporate cannula usage as well as advanced treatment to volumize and lift the aging face. The curriculum includes a discussion of dermal filler complications and their management using hyaluronic acid reversal agents.

  • MEDICAL AESTHETICS TRAINING COURSES

The Aesthetic Platform team comprises three highly experienced aesthetic medicine clinicians who offer virtual and on-site clinical training for healthcare professionals who wish to develop or enhance medical aesthetics skills. These skills include detailed training in patient assessment and injection techniques for both neurotoxins and dermal fillers.

Both techniques can successfully create a more youthful appearance for the face.

What type of initial Medical Aesthetics Training does The Aesthetic Platform offer?

Our initial Level 1 training is for practitioners with no previous experience in medical aesthetics. We offer both a focused course on neurotoxin injections and a course covering both neurotoxin and dermal fillers.

The didactic training will teach you how to perform a comprehensive aesthetic assessment of the patient's conditions and needs. The content includes evaluating the science and data of neurotoxins and fillers necessary for proper treatment selection. You can find more details in our online catalog.

What is included in your Level II and other Advanced Medical Aesthetics Trainings?

Our advanced training courses are for practitioners with two years of experience doing injections who wish to enhance their skill set with more sophisticated techniques.  They may want to treat specific conditions or different areas of the face.

TAP also offers advanced training that includes the opportunity to shadow an expert from The Aesthetics Platform for a full day. Many clinicians who are just getting started in medical aesthetics find it invaluable to witness the assessment and treatment of various clinical conditions that can occur in a full-day session.

These "shadow sessions" provide ample opportunity to ask questions and discuss cases at length with the instructor. TAP consultants can also offer more customized Level 1 or advanced training at your practice location. We offer 1:1 private training or small group training for all the providers at your practice.

What is the difference between neurotoxin and dermal filler treatments, and how do you decide which one is appropriate for the patient's needs?

As people age, fine lines and wrinkles appear on the skin.  There are two primary causes of wrinkles that are very different:

    • Dynamic wrinkles form over time when muscles contract, usually with smiling or frowning. Some examples are wrinkles between the eyelids or "crow's feet" at the eyes' outer corners.
    • Dynamic wrinkles are best treated with neurotoxins that relax the muscles under the skin.  Some examples are BOTOX® Cosmetic or Dysport.
    • Static wrinkles are lines or depressions that exist regardless of any muscle action or pull on the skin. They are generally caused by sun exposure on the skin and decreasing elasticity due to aging.
    • Static wrinkles are best treated with substances that add volume to the face and fill out the problem lines. These substances, such as JUVÉDERM®, are known medically as "dermal fillers" or "gel fillers."

Will I administer a neurotoxin injection under supervision in the fundamental Neurotoxin hands-on training?

Yes, following a live demonstration, you will perform a neurotoxin injection under guidance.

What is included in the 3-hour hands-on combined neurotoxin and filler training?

Your TAP instructor will demonstrate proper treatment techniques for neurotoxins and dermal fillers to enhance patient outcomes and reduce complications.

The Level I combined course's goal is to attain competency with administering neurotoxin to the glabella, crow's feet, and forehead and injecting dermal fillers to enhance the lips, nasolabial folds, and marionette lines.

What additional skills would I acquire in the Level II Advanced Training?

After the 4-hour course, attendees can expect to have competency with administering neurotoxin to both the upper and lower face.  Advanced competency will also include injecting dermal fillers in the cheeks, temples, tear troughs, and peri-oral region.
