Restylane is a simple, noninvasive in office procedure with no downtime. With a small, gentle injection you will see immediate results. Hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance in our body and the newest FDA approved filler. Its main function is to carry and bind water. As we age our skin loses its ability to produce hyaluronic acid causing our skin to become thin and looser.
How is Restylane administered?
Restylane is a gel like substance that is injected into the desired area with a small needle. Depending on the area being treated, a topical and/or local anesthetic can be used to reduce discomfort.
What are the side effects?
There can be tenderness, redness, swelling and/or bruising at the injection site. These are rare and tend to subside within 48 hours of the treatment. Nodules may also form in the treated area but can be massaged for a smoother effect.
How long are the results?
The results are immediate and Restylane has been FDA approved to last up to 12 months.
